Investing in Our Future

Weizmann is thrilled to announce that long-time Weizmann friends Nurit and Simon Burrow are matching all new and/or increased gifts to Weizmann, up to a total of $10,000!
On Sunday, January 22, the Weizmann community gathered at the home of Nurit and Simon Burrow.  The purpose was bittersweet:  to fete this lovely couple that has been actively engaged in life at Weizmann for over three decades as they prepare to move to Arizona.
The Burrows’ connection to Weizmann goes back to the 1980s when daughters Lillian and Rebecca were students at the school in its early days.  Nurit and Simon were an integral part of a group of engaged parents who appreciated the value of an education infused with Jewish values.  They created the school that continues to flourish today.
In the years since then, the Burrows have generously donated both time and money to the Weizmann community.  They have hosted several school events at their home, and they have helped with Weizmann functions at other locations, too.
Simon is a long-time member of the Weizmann Board of Trustees, where he has served as Vice-President, chair of the Finance Committee, trusted counselor for several Board Presidents, and mentor/guide for numerous Board members.  In addition, over the years Simon has given his time to Weizmann in such creative ways as teaching a math enrichment class, facilitating a book club for Weizmann staff, and sharing his knowledge of maps with the school community.
The Burrows have been leaders of the Weizmann community for many, many years.  They have exemplified the teaching in the ethical teachings of Pirkei Avot:  “It is not incumbent upon you to complete the work, but neither are you at liberty to desist from it.”  Now, as the Burrows prepare to leave the area, they are asking community members to join them in showing their love for Weizmann by making a donation to the school.
