Weizmann middle school students performed William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night” on March 21, 2017. Weizmann students stage a Shakespeare performance each year, as part of their language arts and drama curriculum.

“Twelfth Night, “ a hilarious tale of mistaken identity, romance and mischief, is one of Shakespeare’s best-loved comedies. Weizmann’s performance was directed by Ben Donenberg, Founder and Executive Artistic Director of The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles, and included comedic renditions of Beatles tunes.

The students had a great time rehearsing and performing the play. The project combined an intensive study of the play and Shakespearean language with practice in dramatic arts, including acting and comedic timing.

“Everyone loved the performance—from the faculty and staff to the parents and students,” said Lisa Feldman, Head of School. “We are so happy the students have this incredible opportunity to learn and shine each year.”

Weizmann is an accredited K-8 school offering an excellent academic program in traditional academic subjects, the arts, Hebrew and Jewish studies.  Weizmann’s mission is to provide an enriching education, rooted in Jewish traditions and values, which fosters critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and compassion.   _
